What the study found
None of the 85 graded outcomes rated high quality
An umbrella review graded every pooled result across 13 meta-analyses of inositol in polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS. Four in five landed at low or very low, and the rest at moderate. The effects themselves were mostly significant, which is why both halves have to be said together.
The caveat · Recounts the same small trials
An umbrella review inherits the weaknesses of the trials underneath it, and counts the same small trials again each time they turn up in a different meta-analysis. Over half of the 13 meta-analyses it appraised were themselves rated low or very low quality.
